PRIMARY HEALTH CARE: Is also essential in health practices. PHC based on practical scientifically sound and socially acceptable method and technology made and universally accessible to individual and families through their full participation and at a cost the community and country can afford to maintain at every state of their development it in the spirit of self reliance and self determination.

SOME OF THE PRINCIPLES IN PHC

- Availability: Services and drugs should be available at all time

- Assesability: The health care must be very close to the people and not far way.

- Community participation: Opportunity should be given the people to participate in health care delivery and finding solution to some of their health problems

SOME OF THE COMPONENT OR ELEMENT OF PHC

- Promoting food supply for proper nutrition

- Immunization against the major infections diseases

- Appropriate treatment of common diseases and injuries

- Provision of essential drugs and supply

OBJECTIVES OF PHC

- To solve the problem causing mortality and morbidity at a low cost

- To ensure that the method is effective and can be maintain by the community

- To ensure that the people in the community are ful involved in planning delivery and evaluation of any health programme

SOME OF THE FACTORS AFFECTING THE HEALTH OF PEOPLE IN NIGERIA

- The cultural factors e.g the custom, religious and belief e.t.c

- Environmental factors i.e the improper disposal waste, noise, air and water pollution

- Socio-economics factor like population, poverty, laziness, level of education income, illiteracy and ignorance

- Personal factors personal hygiene, level of education and feeding
